Township Services

Jefferson County is made up of 14 different townships.  To view a map of the townships, click here.  The County Engineer’s Office provides assistance to the townships, per ORC 5543.01

Engineering Services

• Provide general engineering services for each township upon request from the Board of Township Trustees
• Review engineering plans and reports pertaining to township road projects submitted by independent professional engineers 
• Assist the Board of Township Trustees with project estimates
• Develop minimum road standards for use on new road establishments
• Road Deputy: Radar and overweight vehicles
• Bridges: County inspects and maintains bridges on township roads greater than 10-feet
• Perform Speed Studies in order to establish a proper speed limit for a township highway
• Non-maintenance Status
